You’re probably wondering how we came up with the name “The Carry Camp.” Oh friends, you would laugh if you saw our process! Think hundreds of texts, emails, words, Bible verses, synonyms, imagery, and one google chat where we couldn’t stop saying, “this is hard!” But it all boiled down to one word that we just kept coming back to… carry.
Infertility gives women a unique perspective on the term “carry.” For many of us, we will never carry a child in our womb… or if we do get that chance it doesn’t last – we don’t carry to term. But while we don’t always get to carry children we do carry so many other things.
We carry pain. We carry hope. We carry a message. We carry burdens – ours and others. We carry grace. We carry love. We carry grief. We carry forgiveness. We carry unseen fruit. We carry each other.
Galatians 6:2 tells us that we are to carry each other’s burdens and that’s what we’re about here. Coming beside you, reaching out in love, standing shoulder to shoulder to ease that load you’ve been carrying alone.
We want your time here to be the place where you can take a deep breath, relax, let your guard down, and disconnect from the world while you reconnect with Christ. We want you to feel free and re-energized to go live life to the fullest. Kind of that feeling you left camp with when you were young… ready to take on the world!
